Journal Of A Busy Working Mum
This idea has been swirling around my head for a while now so it makes me really happy to finally have my thoughts on paper to share with you all!
As you may or not know, my name is Zoe and just over 3 years ago I started my company TreatBox. Since then it has flourished into something I feel very proud of and it makes me really happy to think that via my TreatBoxes, I am helping to spread love and positivity.
As things have got busier and I am creating more and more in terms of products, it has been even more important for me to try to maintain balance in my life and I wanted to start a little journal in which I document how I achieve this. Each week I will be updating you all on the challenges I face as a busy mum of two with a business to run and the things I implement within my everyday life to help me to overcome them.
I would love to hear your thoughts too and any advice you could share about the things you do to keep things ticking over would be very much appreciated! I will be covering a different topic each week and first-up I'd like to share something from Tuesday evening!
So, it had been a really busy day at the office getting all of the components of the TreatBox Advent Calendar together (and wrapping like a woman possessed!). Ordinarily, I would have taken work home with me and would have continued whatever I was working on in my living room. However, on Tuesday, I decided to take a nice shower, eat some nourishing food and watch the Great British Bake Off!
It really made me realise how important it is to take time out from work and do something that made me completely switch-off from the stresses of the day. In fact, by taking a night out completely, I was actually a lot more productive the next day. By allowing myself a bit of time-out, it gave me the chance to re-energise and build myself up for tasks ahead of me.
It goes to show that we don't need to be 100% all of the time, this is in fact near-on impossible! Allowing ourselves to take a bath, read a book or have a cuppa without feeling guilty is very important (especially when you run your own business). Of course there are times when I feel like I want to give it all up - that's part of the rollercoaster of life but I am learning that if I take some time out for the simple things, the big things are way more manageable!
That's my journal entry for this week, I hope you like it and please do feel free to enter in the comments below the things you do to maintain balance in your life. I would absolutely love to hear your thoughts!!! Have a great day!
Lots of love,
