Journal Of A Busy Working Mum: Staying Organised

Posted on November 19 2018

Hello everyone!

I hope you're really well and your November has been great so far. It's been a busy few weeks here at TreatBox HQ and we are so pleased to say that we have been packing, wrapping, sticking, boxing and of course, drinking tea to post our amazing TreatBox Advent Calendar!

  TreatBox Advent Calendar.

We have been absolutely made-up with the response so far, we've got the most beautiful collection of products for you and we know you're going to love them.

So, I thought we'd make this Journal post all about how to stay organised when it feels like there are a mountain of tasks to do - this is especially important I feel as Christmas creeps closer as we all have so much to do. In relation to our Advent Calendars, we've had thousands of products to gift wrap, each with their hand-tied bows or festive stickers and when I initially looked at the mountain of products, I said "Oh, heck", or something along those lines and wondered if myself and my team would get it all ready in time. However, we did it and we are ready to rock and roll!

If you feel like you have million things to do, here's my quick guide to staying on-top of things this festive season to make sure that you don't go crazy in the process!

1 - Make a list; this sounds obvious but it really does help. By getting tasks form your head to the page, they will seem much more manageable.

2 - Set realistic goals. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was Oprah so make sure that you're not stretching yourself too far - it ok to complete things in bite-sized chunks.

3 - Take a break. It's crucial to allow your body time to rest and re-coup. We actually work more efficiently if we've had enough sleep. I am working on this and I've felt the benefits of taking some time out for me.

4 - Ask for help. Yep. It's a tough one I know but the build-up to Christmas can be a tad overwhelming so cut yourself some slack and share the chores!

5 - Enjoy! Oh yeah, this is most important of all! Letting it all go for a few days, skipping the usual routine, eating Christmas pud for breakfast; that's what it's all about. I am giving myself 100% permission to go with the flow and if I want a turkey sarnie at midnight, I shall jolly well have one!

I hope you like this whistle-stop round-up of the things I do and will be implementing this Chrimbo and as usual, I would love to hear all the things you do to keep yourself organised.

Right I am off to start prepping for Decembers TreatBox now!

Enjoy your day and stay warm & cosy.

Love Zoe xxx
