Top Tips to Help You Worry Less
Are you a worrier?
Now I am a fine one to talk here, but this year I have been trying to put a few steps into place to help me not to worry as much, and I thought I would share some with you.
Why is it the day flies by and soon as you sit down at night the kids are in bed, or you have finished for the day, it's quiet you are relaxed, and straight away all the worries start creeping into your mind! I am in no way an expert, but I thought I would share some little tips I have been trying this year to calm the worries!
Can you do anything about the problem right now?
If not, then try to do something completely different, listen to some of your favourite music there are some fantastic feel-good playlist on Spotify like; Happy Beats or Mood Booster are great. You could go for a run, run a bath, watch some catch-up, I love a good series and I am a big fan of a Netflix Originals I have so many favourites but to narrow it down I would have to be for easy-going; Santa Clarita Diet, Good Girls, Dumplin or if you are looking for something a little more intense; Bird Box, Dead To Me or The Haunting of Hill House. Any of these suggestions will help to take your mind off of things and help you not to think about it until a time you can take action.
Tomorrow is a new day and after a good night sleep everything will feel a little brighter and more comfortable to deal with.
Make A Plan
When you’re ready to take action, try to break down the worries and possibilities of each outcome, and take each step slowly, sometimes just writing it down helps and it might not look as big and scary as your mind was making it feel. Another great reason to write down what is on your mind; once you have finished taken a minute to read them back through and then throw them away shred them, throw them on the fire. You are free of them now they are gone!
Talk It Out
It might feel difficult just calling or texting someone randomly out of the blue to talk about something they might not know about you or maybe they are unaware of what is happening. There are so many ways in this day and age you can contact someone Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp, email, physically write to them if you need too, But I am sure they will be happy you came to them, and once you have talked it through, you will feel so much better, a weight off of your shoulders.
Plan a weekend or an evening with your pals, it doesn’t have to be a wild one night in watching one of those series with some snacks and a bottle of wine will be just fine you can chat, cry and laugh the evening away it might be just what you need!
Be Kind To Yourself
Is what you are worrying about actually happening right now or are you worrying about something that you think might happen in the future? In that case stop. This situation isn't happening right now, and if it does, you can deal with that when and if it happens. Right now, it is a waste of your emotions and time.
A little self-love goes a long way, spend the day doing something you love, and make yourself number one, have a pamper day, read, go out for the day!
Be patient and kind to yourself trying to change the way you think and deal with things takes time.
Remind yourself that everything usually works out alright in the end, and this too shall pass
Finally, you are strong and amazing look at how far you have come, If you have any tips on what works for you, or maybe this blog post has helped you I would love to hear from you.
